Secretariat Head Office

1. The CCICED Secretariat Head Office is established under China's Department of International Cooperation of Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE). The Secretariat operates under the leadership of the department's Secretary General.

2. The main responsibilities of the Secretariat include:

1) Organizing the CCICED Executive Committee meetings, Council Member meetings, and other high-level forums, seminars, and dialogues.

2) Managing CCICED's funds.

3) Managing CCICED's policy research projects.

4) Disseminating CCICED research findings.

5) Establishing, maintaining, and expanding CCICED's partnerships.

6) Providing support to CCICED's Council Members, Chief Advisors, and Special Advisors.

7) Developing capacity building programs on environment and development for Chinese senior officials.

8) Other tasks as assigned by the Secretary General.

Secretariat International Support Office

1. The Secretariat is supported in its international activities by the CCICED Secretariat International Support Office (SISO), which is held by the independent think tank International Institute for Sustainable Development (based in Canada).

2. Its main functions include:

1) Executing the primary donor country's CCICED projects.

2) Managing international donations and contributions based on the donors' processes and regulations.

3) Contracting CCICED's International Chief Advisor, international experts, and international members of the support team.

4) Assisting the Secretariat in preparing the CCICED Annual General Meetings, including travel arrangements.
