They discussed the cooperation between CCICED and the UN "Sustainable Energy for All" Initiative and the special reports that Mr. Yumkella, CCICED Member and Executive Secretary of the "Sustainable Energy for All" Initiative, intended to submit to CCICED Phase V.

Mr. Echeverri conveyed the positive intention of Mr. Yumkella to continue to participate in and support the work and actions of CCICED. He said that the "Sustainable Energy for All" Initiative, initiated by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in 2011, was dedicated to extensively promoting transformation of global energy systems based on joint efforts of senior leaderships in governments, enterprises and non-governmental organizations, and trying to achieve the three key objectives before 2030: 1. Ensure that people around the world universally enjoy modern energy service; 2. Double the energy efficiency; 3. Double the ratio of renewable energy in global energy sources.
Ms. Fang Li spoke highly of Mr. Yumkella’s contributions to CCICED Phase IV and Phase V, and expressed that CCICED also expected a deep and fruitful cooperation with the UN "Sustainable Energy for All" Initiative under the leadership of Mr. Yumkella to jointly promote energy sustainability in China and even the world. In addition, Ms. Fang Li introduced the policy studies made by CCICED in recent years and the work plan in future years, and put forth suggestions and expectations for the cooperation.
Finally, the two parties agreed to enhance communication in specific cooperation fields and methods in the future.
